It’s no secret that makeup is getting more fun and uninhibited. Because of collaborations between major designers and lifestyle brands (think of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty), couture beauty trends are now accessible to the masses. Furthermore, social media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest have become hubs for beauty-lovers to showcase their looks and creations. Namely, beauty and makeup trends are better than ever. So what are some of the new looks people are rocking?

Well, Fashion Week definitely helped us predict a few. During Tom Ford’s show, models rocked a “thumb print” eyeliner look. So what exactly does this look entail? Well, in a fashion similar to the cat-eye look, the models had a larger, more smudged line of eyeliner adorning their eyes. Pretty groovy. Another look featured during Fashion Week was aqua-tinted eyes. The turquoise eyeliner and eyeshadow that the models at Tadashi Shoji rocked gave awesome, aquatic vibes perfect for spring or summer. Tanya Taylor’s models, on the other hand, rocked a look that has been seen across Instagram and other venues- natural beauty, to the max. The models featured had bare skin, brushed up brows and lips flushed with color. However, if you are opting for something a little less natural and a little more, intergalactic, you may be interested in what the models for the Blonds fashion week show were wearing. The Blonds models all wore holographic perspex liner. The rest of the look was simple, but the vibe- space station beauty- was totally set. Another spacey look was seen at Tracey Reese’ show, where the models all wore a wash of lime green eyeshadow. Another more dramatic look was featured at N21’s show, where models wore kick-flare lashes. This gave the models a sweet, young, doe-eyed look and kick-flare lashes can help you achieve the same thing at home! Of course, some spring and summer beauty trends are a bit more classical. Badgley Mischka’s show featured models with barely there makeup and punchy red lips. The lack of face and eye makeup helped the lips really pop and reiterated why red lips are such a tried and true beauty classic.

Regarding hair, Fashion Week also offered up some good trends. One such was slicked back, low-key hair that was featured at Etro’s SS18 show. Another hair trend was showcased at Vicky Zhang’s show. There, models wore a halo braid matched with fresh, pretty skin. Practically perfect if you ask us! One of the other fresh, spring hair trends featured at Fashion Week was the gypsophila-laden hair showcased at Rodarte’s wedding-inspired show. Okay, maybe putting a garden in your head isn’t effortless, but is a really cool look if you are headed toward a special event.
